1.    THANKSGIVING PROGRAM AT THE SCHOOL - TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22.
I am reproducing below the letter that was sent home last week announcing the Thanksgiving Program that will be held tomorrow.  You can still send fresh fruit and vegetables to school as requested in the letter and you are welcome to join us.  Due to the special lunch being prepared, your child does not need to bring a lunch to school tomorrow.

This is the letter that was sent home last week:

November 11, 2011

 Dear Parents,

On Tuesday November 22 Hillel students will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day.  The middle school will be putting on their interpretation of Molly’s Pilgrims with the help of each grade level. Different grades will re-enact different parts of the story of Thanksgiving.

We will also be having a Thanksgiving Feast at lunchtime! Mrs. Slonim has graciously agreed to cook and slice the turkey, at her home, for all of us to enjoy. (Yum!! – Thank you Mrs. Slonim!!) Each child is being asked to bring one vegetable (i.e. carrots, celery, etc) and one fruit (i.e. apples, pears, etc) by Monday November 21 to be shared by all. The fruits and vegetables will be used to make “friendship” salads.

The children would love to have you join us in the festivities. The play begins at 11:00 AM and the feast will be immediately after.

Looking forward to seeing you on this great day. Thanks for all your support with this event and throughout the school.

2.    THANKSGIVING VACATION:  School and office will be closed Wednesday - Friday, November 23-25, 2011 in honor of Thanksgiving.  Best wishes for a happy holiday and a very enjoyable Thanksgiving.

3.    JOURNAL ADS DUES DECEMBER 1:  Please make sure you contact your list of advertisers as soon as possible.  The deadline for ads is December 1.  If you need more names, please call the office or speak to Lori Lewis.

Please remember that the ad journal is one of our largest fundraising items and we rely on a successful Journal for the funds necessary for the operation of the school.  Your support and efforts are vital in order for the school  to continue operation.

4.    ORDER SCRIP NOW FOR CHANUKKAH AND THE HOLIDAYS:  Scrip is a great way to give holiday gifts and Chanukkah presents to friends and family.  Order your scrip now and you know that you will have that job completed way in advance.  This is the time of year that many do on-line shopping.  Many of the retailers allow scrip to be redeemed on line.

Please see the attached order form and note how you can access all the retailers that they carry.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sincerely yours,

Rabbi Zev Silber
